OK team, lets kick this into gear.
First match week of NFL is this weekend coming.


For those that are a touch vague on how we do this - here we go.

Each week I'll run a blog post with some commentary about the week ahead, or just past.

On the top of the blog, there is a page for each WEEK number (in this case 1), and it will have all the data.
   The games to tip.
   Your head to head opponents.
   Your tips and those of your opponent (once the deadline to enter has passed).
   The Results of NFL games and your match-ups as in play, and
   The League tables per pool of player.

Also there will be a link that you click on to enter your tips.
Enter your tips via the link, and if you feel like changing, just re-enter. I'm taking the most recent as your final, valid set.


Remember - You are tipping the MARGINS of the games... e.g. the score difference.
You are tipping a negative margin (-12 for example) as a win to the HOME team.
A postive number is a win to the visitors.
I need numbers only...no tips like 'Packers by 5' please. Just -5 is enough.


As before, once the deadline is up for entry (usually Friday PM before each week), the 'WEEK' page will update, and you can see your tips and your opponents too.
I will tweet the link once we are all locked in.

Once the weekend plays out, the WEEK page will again be updated with your scores and wins / draws / losses, plus the league table will also be shown at the foot of the page.
Again, I will tweet the link once the weekend is done.

That's the easy part.


For newbies, scoring is as follows in the head to head competition.
   1 - you get a point for tipping the right team AND being closer to the actual margin than your opponent.
   2 - if you tip correct and are further away, no point for you.
   3 - if you tip to be within 2 points of the actual margin, you get a bonus point.
   4 - if you tip the exact margin, you get the correct tip point, plus a bonus 2 points.

Example match-ups.
   'A' tips Packers by 8, and 'B' tips Packers by 11.
   'C' tips Packers by 12, 'D' tips Seattle by 3
   'E' tips Packers by 3, 'F' tips Packers by 15.

Actual margin - Packers by 9.
(So bonus window is if you tipped between 7 and 11)

Results:
   'A' gets 1 for tipping the winner AND nearer the pin than 'B', plus tipped margin is 1 off the actual, so a bonus point is awarded.
   'A' 2-0 'B'

   'C' gets 1 for tipping the winner, and with 'D' tipping the losing team, the nearest the pin clause is not needed.
   'C' 1-0 'D'

   'E' and 'F' both tipped the winner, and both are the same distance away between tipped and actual margin, so both get a point.
   'E' 1-1 'F'


The above is repeated for the five games head-to-head for each player and match-up. Best total score wins, etc as per league play and ladders and stuff - you know the drill.
