17. INAUGURAL SEASON FINALE POST

OK players, a few things to round out the year.

First, thanks for joining in and playing. Its been a bit clunky, but overall I think it went OK. Nice to read some positive comments tweeted. Much thanks.

Second, if the new job is manageable and not killing me, then this show will be back for 2018. Hope you all want back in, no pressure if you don't. I'll send out invitations / confirmations around Sept. Don't be afraid to remind me because its 'London to a brick' I will forget.

Finally, and the big one - its time to release some end of season awards.

Division Winners.

1@AndrewM_81

1@BenSmith94
Wonderful tipping saw Andrew a game clear on top of Purple, and Ben half a game on top of Grey. Ben also dominated on the scoring front finishing +19 score difference, a whole 12 ahead of second.

Division Spoons.

8@Amul82

8@Lucrious
As tweeted, it was a surprise to see these 2 last. Both were dead keen to play when the idea was floated.
Four wins for Amul and three for Luc placed them both 5 wins behind top.

MAE Champions.

@SteveSmithFFX9.30

When tipping a discreet number as in this competition, accuracy is important. The closer tip in this game gets the points when it matters.
A way to calculate how accurate tips are is to look at the Mean Average Error (MAE) between the tip and actual result. The lower the number over the season, the better.
Steve and J_F are your 2017 most accurate margin tipsters.

Most Correct.

@AndrewM_8154

@The_FMI57

Another interesting twist with this competition is that you can tip lots of matches correctly but not win because of your accuracy. So regardless of accuracy, the most correct matched tipped were by FMI and Andrew.

Most in Bonus Window.

@BrotherAmos15

@J_Foreigner15

@BenSmith9412

@The_FMI12

Once again in this comp, accuracy is rewarded with bonus points for tipping between -2 to +2 of the actual margin (inclusive).
Both divisions had two players that landed in that window 15 or 12 times respectively.

Most Exacts.

@AndrewM_815

@BenSmith946

More bonus points were awarded for exactly tipping the margin. Ben and Andrew scored the most on this count.

Longest Correct Tip Streak.

@AndrewM_8123

@SteveSmithFFX16

The above 23 and 16 for Andrew and Steve respectively are the number of consecutive correctly tipped games in a season.
Andrew's streak started on Week 11, and lasted all the way through weeks 12, 13 and 14, with the last three stretching into the divisional playoff match. Four and a half weeks of correctly tipped games.

Inaugural Virtual Bowl.

After 14 regular weeks of play and a divisional playoff, the season ended with a Final between the Purple and Grey divisions.
Qualifying for the final via the divisional play-offs were

All the game data is over on the VIRTUAL BOWL page, but the game results fell as:

THE FINAL HEAD TO HEAD SCORES
@AndrewM_812, @The_FMI3

Ahem.
Those that know my other comps will know that I don't manage to win them all, so calls for a stewards inquiry will not be heard.

Once again as a final note, thanks to all players this year, hope it was a fun thing for you all, and lets see if I can bring it back for the 2018 season.

15/22 - Week 15 - The Final

 This is it, the final game of the 2022 FMIplay-NFL season.
